ADVOCACY

What
has your Chapter done lately?
-
Is a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society's (LSMS)
Specialty Society Committee that is being used to
promote and improve communications between the LSMS and
the organized medical speciality societies in Louisiana
on issues of mutual interest.

Planned its biennial meeting in conjunction with the
Louisiana Pediatric Postgraduate Education Council
entitled Pediatric Potpourri X.

Continues to support the Louisiana Coalition for
Maternal and Child Health.

During the fiscal only session of the LA Legislature,
the Chapter was instrumental in getting the restoration
of the proposed 7% cuts in Medicaid, an additional $18
million funds for physician fees and the expansion of LA
CHIP to 200% of poverty.
