ATTENTION
ALL PEDIATRICIANS!!
Childnet or Part C, the statewide program that provides early
intervention services to infants and toddlers from birth to three
is in the process of changing its lead agency from the Department
of Education to the Department of Health and Hospitals. The transition
will be effective July 01, 2003.
The program
is undergoing many changes, and DHH would like this to be a smooth
process for families who have babies with special needs. Pediatricians
are a key component in this process because they refer families
to our program and enable parents to acquire these services for
their infant or toddler. Our mission at DHH is to inform physicians
and patients of this transition so we can to continue to serve infants
and toddlers who are currently enrolled in the program while extending
services to babies in need of special services.
