As you may be aware, the federal government shutdown over the weekend. Upon review of the Louisiana WIC current budget, there is enough NSA federal funding to continue providing WIC services in the state of Louisiana through approximately March 31, 2018. Congress passed a bill to fund the WIC Program through February 8, 2018.
Please be advised that the Louisiana WIC Program is open for business and will continue providing WIC services until further notice.
Clinics may provide WIC food benefits, per policy, through April 30, 2018 at this time. Please be careful not to over issue as WIC policy and procedures are still in place, no exceptions.
Again, continue to schedule and serve WIC applicants and participants until further notice.
