Access Engaging Preconference Insights and Trainings

Gain additional insights and skills outisde of the main conference, by participating in our Preconference Events. This year we're proud to bring attendees two amazing preconference events on August 13th: The Cost of Poverty Experience and The Culinary Medicine Preconference.

The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) is a free preconference event open to all healthcare professionals. This preconference is being hosted by Louisiana Healthcare Connections and will provide an in-depth experience of how healthcare and poverty interact. The COPE will be at the Roosevelt Hotel from 2:15-5:00 PM.

The Culinary Medicine Preconference is an invite-only event offering an opportunity for pediatric residents and practicing pediatricians to get to know each other and build community. The preconference will be at Tulane's Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine from 1:30-4:30 PM. Attendees will meet in the lobby of the Roosevelt at 1:00 PM to take the Tulane shuttle to the Goldring Center.

All conference attendees are invited to join us for the White Linen Welcome Reception on the Pool Deck at the Roosevelt from 6:00-7:00 PM.

Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE)

The Cost of Poverty Experience is an immersive simulation that brings to life the real-world challenges and profound human impact of poverty.

In this healthcare edition, you will deepen your understanding of how poverty effects the lives of your patients and contributes to negative health outcomes.

Credit: The Louisiana AAP designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.5 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Accreditation: The Louisiana AAP is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
