Advocacy in Action

At the Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (LA AAP), advocacy is more than a mission — it’s action in motion. From the State Capitol to community clinics, our members work every day to elevate the voice of Louisiana’s children and those who care for them. Through collaboration with legislators, healthcare leaders, and local partners, LA AAP champions policies that protect children’s health, expand access to care, and strengthen the pediatric profession.

Our “Advocacy in Action” efforts extend far beyond policy. We lead statewide initiatives that raise awareness about critical health issues, host educational programs that empower providers and families, and organize community events that bring health resources directly to those who need them most. Whether we’re testifying before lawmakers, training residents on effective advocacy, or uniting pediatricians around a cause, LA AAP is committed to building a healthier, safer future for every child in Louisiana.
