Dr. Katie Queen is a board-certified pediatrician and obesity medicine specialist who serves as Vice President of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (LA-AAP). She is the Medical Director of the Weight & Nutrition Center at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, where she leads a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for children and adolescents with obesity.

Dr. Queen holds several statewide and national leadership roles. She is the President of the Louisiana Obesity Society, a member of the Executive Committee of the AAP Section on Obesity, and serves on the Louisiana Children’s Cabinet Advisory Board, where she helps shape policy and programs that impact children across the state.

Her academic and research work includes serving as co-investigator for the PCORI-funded DOSE/COACH Trial and the NIH-funded ISPCTN ECHO Program, contributing to clinical advancements and family-centered interventions in pediatric obesity. She is passionate about advocacy, health equity, and ensuring that all children in Louisiana have access to high-quality, multidisciplinary obesity care.
