Rachel Chatters
Dr. Rachel Chatters is a board-certified pediatrician with over 20 years of experience caring for children and adolescents. As the founder of Chatters Pediatrics, she provides comprehensive care that spans preventive services as well as the diagnosis and management of both acute and chronic conditions affecting young people.
Dr. Chatters earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans through LSUHSC New Orleans. Since 1999, she has been serving families in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she launched her own practice in 2003.
Throughout her career, Dr. Chatters has demonstrated a commitment to medical education and community service. She has served as a preceptor for medical students at William Carey University Osteopathic School of Medicine, held leadership roles such as President of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and contributed as a board member for Family and Youth Counseling. Her clinical leadership includes roles as Pediatric Section Chief and Medical Staff President at Christus Ochsner Lake Area Hospital.
Dr. Chatters holds hospital privileges at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital–Gauthier Campus, Christus Ochsner Lake Area Hospital, Lake Charles Memorial Hospital–Main Campus, and Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital. Her dedication to compassionate care has been recognized with multiple Patients’ Choice and Compassionate Doctor awards.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chatters and her husband, Benard, have raised five children in Lake Charles and enjoy spending time with their growing family, including their first granddaughter.
