The American Board of Pediatrics recently approved a modification in the requirements for the period of supervised practice required by the Time Limited Eligibility policy for Initial Certification Examinations. The six months of supervised practice now may be completed over more than one year in order to provide flexibility for individuals. Proposals for part-time supervised practice that extend over more than one year will be considered as long as the plan addresses consistency of supervision of the individual and the continuity of the supervised practice experience.
